Prism Propane Offers At-Cost Heaters To General Public, Competitors

Prism Propane Services of Ohio’s Chief Operating Officer George Walton announced this morning that, due to increased demand, Prism will offer at-cost energy-efficient electric heaters to the public starting tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 8.

To accommodate those who work during the week and to meet the demand, Walton has extended office hours to include Saturday. The offices at 1399 Business Park Drive South in North Baltimore will be open tomorrow, Feb. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Those interested should call 877-887-7476 to reserve a heater before visiting the office.  Normal office hours will continue Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“We don’t want to see anyone in harm’s way during these persisting sub-zero temperatures,” said Walton. “Most local retail stores stopped stocking electric heaters this close to the end of the season. We worked with Menards in Findlay and Andersons in Maumee to offer them at-cost to our customers as alternate heating sources during the propane gas shortage. Our office began to receive numerous requests for heaters from local residents and from some of our competitors for their propane gas customers.”

Prism offered the energy-efficient heaters to its customers the Monday following Ohio Governor John Kasich’s declaration of a state of energy emergency and quickly ran out of the smaller units. Ben Anderson, general manager of Menards, requested delivery of energy efficiency heaters from its southern stores to Prism saying, “We are glad we could help Prism keep its customers and community members warm during this energy shortage.” The Andersons also volunteered a shipment from their Maumee stores.

Prism continues to form partnerships with distributors outside the state to transport propane gas to its storage facilities. While the crisis persists, Prism customers are urged to conserve propane gas as much as is safe and practical and call the hotline number 567-208-0860 for up-to-date information.
