Prism Propane “Flares” Tanks For Expansion Project
This morning, Prism Propane Services “flared” its tanks at 1399 Business Park Drive South in North Baltimore in preparation for an expansion project taking place over the next year. According to Chief Operating Officer George Walton, an estimated $325,000 will be invested in immediate construction of a new storage facility for the two existing 30,000-gallon propane tanks with additional tanks to arrive this Thursday.
“Our goal is to have one-half million gallons of propane storage available for both our commercial and residential customers within the next few years,” said Walton. The majority of that storage will be on site and the rest at other sites in the area.
Prism’s customary storage capacity is 240,000 gallons, with the expansion expecting to bump storage levels to 300,000 gallons by the end of the month.
Conducting the controlled burn of the remaining gas in the two, emptied 30,000-gallon tanks is a safety precaution, prior to moving the tanks to the new location to the west of the office facility at Baltimore.
Walton said, “The flame likely will continue to burn over the next eight hours.”
In preparation for the heating season, Prism has just released its Budget Enrollment and Pre-buy Price Protection Plans, which can be found at www.prismpropane.com
