Prism Propane Community Outreach

From the top down, our company is made up of local people proudly serving their friends and neighbors since 1998. We are large enough to meet your needs yet small enough to care, and we aim to better our territory through elite business practices and community outreach. Below you’ll find a compilation of the charities and nonprofit organizations that we have worked with recently. If you run a charity or nonprofit organization in the Northwest Ohio area, get in touch with our team if you’re interested in beginning a partnership.

On December 9, Prism Propane Services of Ohio, LLC, staff and board members, together with CoBank—a cooperative bank serving industries across rural America headquartered in Denver, Colorado – presented a total of $10,000 in donations to the Hancock County Fairgrounds Capital Campaign fund. The checks from both organizations were presented to Thomas Warren, president of the fairgrounds’ board of directors.

We are pleased to partner with CoBank in offering a chance to help breathe new life into this valuable community asset. The fairgrounds are the heart of Findlay and Hancock County and tens of thousands come through its gates each year to celebrate the quality of life here. This is an incredible opportunity for us to highlight how the cooperative effort benefits communities across our nation. We feel privileged to be a part of this community revitalization project.

These funds will be used toward a new facility at the fairgrounds to be named later. The funding is a 50-percent Prism grant combined with a 50 percent CoBank matching-fund Sharing Success Grant. As part of this partnership, Prism donated $5,000 to Wood Lane Schools in Wood County in 2012, and in cooperation with Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative and CoBank donated a total of $20,000 in 2013, to The Boy Scouts of America’s Camp Berry located in Findlay.

Prism Propane Services of Ohio representatives partnered with Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative and presented a $20,000 check to The Boy Scouts of America’s Camp Berry as part of a Sharing Success Grant program offered through CoBank, an electric distribution banking group based in Atlanta, Georgia.

We donated $5,000 toward the purchase of a generator that powers clean and sanitary water services at the camp. Black Swamp Area Council of the Boy Scouts Board Member Karl Heminger told Hancock-Wood leadership last summer that the camp suffered extensive derecho storm damage in 2012 that knocked down hundreds of trees, strew debris and put their water pumping services virtually out of commission. Walton pledged to help find funding for a new generator that could solve this issue.

Walton then partnered with CoBank’s Vice President Clarence Mahovlich to explore grant opportunities and discovered Sharing Success would fit the bill. Camp Berry leadership worked with area contractors for installation of the generator in early 2014.
